Historical background

BACTRIA - BACTRIAN KINGDOM - APOLLODOTUS I

(174-165 BC)

Apollodotus is a contemporary of Antimachus I Theos (185-170 AC.), Antimachus II Nicephorus (160-155 AC.), Demetrios II (175-170 AC.) and Eucratides I (170-145 AC. ). In fact, the history of Bactria is very poorly known. These kings certainly simultaneously ruled parts of the great kingdom. Thanks to the coinage, we learn that Apollodote directly succeeds Agathocles (190-180 AC.) and Pantaleon (190-185 AC.).
