Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle pour ce type de monnayage sur un petit flan ovale, bien centré des deux côtés, le flan légèrement fendu à 12 heures au droit

Reverse description : Pax (la Paix) drapée, debout à gauche, tenant une branche d’olivier de la main droite et un sceptre transversal de la main gauche.

Commentary
Avec l’intégralité de son argenture superficielle. Rubans de type 3. Ptéryges invisibles. Jean-Marc Doyen dans son étude sur Milan avait recensé vingt-deux antoniniens avec dix-neuf coins de droit et dix-huit coins de revers pour les pièces sans ponctuation.

Coinage in Postumus' name
Auréolus, "Magister Equitum" since 260, enters Gaul with Gallien during the year 267 to reconquer the "Pars Occidentalis" of the Empire. Wounded, Gallien returned to Italy, abandoning Auréolus, defeated. Feeling betrayed, Aureolus returned to Italy, allied himself with Postumus and shut himself up in Milan, hence the coinage in the name of Postumus. Gallien runs up and besieges Auréolus, but he is assassinated at the instigation of the new master of the cavalry, Claudius II, who then leaves the besieged to be massacred, to whom he has promised his life in return for his surrender..
