Belle petite monnaie, sur un flan irrégulier, avec un bel avers mais un revers confus. Patine sombre

Obverse description : Tête à gauche, la chevelure en deux masses indépendantes retenue par un bandeau. Un petit sanglier devant la bouche avec un annelet pointé entre les pattes. Une esse et quelques lettres en bord de flan devant l’esse et le sanglier.

Reverse legend : [DVNICCOS].
Reverse description : Cheval à gauche, la crinière perlée, un annelet surmonté d’un torque au-dessous. Légende en bord de flan au-dessous. Grènetis.

GALLIA - AULERCI EBUROVICES (Area of Évreux)
(3rd - 1st century BC)
The Aulerci were subdivided into three tribes: Aulerci Diablintes, Aulerci Cenomani and Aulerci Éburovices. The territory of Aulerques Éburovices corresponds to the current department of Eure. They are quoted several times in Caesar's Commentaries. According to the latter, they would have massacred their Senate favorable to the Romans in 56 BC and would have joined the Unelles and the revolted Lexoviens. In 52 BC, they provided a contingent of three thousand men to the relief army. : Caesar (BG.(II, 34; III, 17, 29; VII, 4, 75; VIII, 7). Kruta: 72.
