Commentary


Cette hémi-sillique correspond au n° 582 de MONNAIES XI qui avait été cassé par erreur aux Vandales.
Ces petites monnaies divisionnaires seraient plutôt originaires du Nord-Est de la Gaule et circuleraient jusqu’aux tribus germaniques. Cet exemplaire se rapproche de certaines petites monnaies d’argent de la région de Metz..
This hemisilique corresponds to number 582 of COINS XI, which was mistakenly broken by the Vandals. These small fractional coins are thought to have originated in northeastern Gaul and circulated as far as the Germanic tribes. This example is similar to certain small silver coins from the Metz region.
