Commentary

La monnaie a été transformée en une moitié de boite de forçat. Ces boîtes sont réputées venir des forçats et permettaient de cacher une pièce d’or dans une modeste pièce de bronze probablement à des fins de financement d’évasion.
The coin was transformed into half a convict box. These boxes are said to have come from convicts and were used to hide a gold coin inside a modest bronze coin, probably for the purpose of financing an escape.
