In 146 BC Gnaeus Cornelius Lentulus and Lucius are Memmius consuls. This year sees the end of the siege of Carthage and the destruction of the great African metropolis while its population was massacred or enslaved. The province of Africa is established. A conflict between the Romans to members of the Achaean confederacy. Diaeus is defeated by the consul Lucius Memmius Corinth who seizes and destroys the city.
