Coments on the condition:
Monnaie sur un flan mince et léger, avec une zone ébréchée en bord de flan. Patine sombre et granuleuse, surtout au revers. Droit un peu mou et de style assez grossier, mais un revers plus fin

Le sous-groupe 7 est dit “éclectique”, de par sa composition hétérogène. Si le droit est assez classique, le revers avec l’épigraphie en deux lignes est excessivement rare.

(7th - 8th centuries)
If the minting of these coins is to be located at the beginning of the 8th century, in Great Britain, it is not exceptional to find them in Gaul. They are often confused with Merovingian silver coins (cf. MONNAIES XIX, n° 503, sceattas c. 680-710, classified in Merovingian denier of Laon). During the 8th century, the style of these pieces is more and more degenerated, they are often in ridge or filled. These coins disappeared from circulation in the second half of the 8th century.
