ANDRONICUS II and III Palaeologus ANDRONICUS

(1325-1334)

Michael VIII, the father of Andronicus, had restored the Byzantine Empire in 1261 after 57 years of Latin occupation. Andronicus II reigned from 1282 to 1328. His son Michael IX died before him. This is his little son, Andronicus III, who succeeded him. Andronicus was forced to abdicate May 24, 1328. Andronicus II died Feb. 13, 1332. Andronicus III not long survive him, he died June 15, 1341.
