Ce sixième de thaler est frappé sur un flan large et régulier. Les reliefs sont très nets au droit et au revers ; le portrait du roi est remarquablement bien traité. Cette monnaie est recouverte d'une légère patine grise de collection

Georges III (4/06/1738-29/01-1820) is the grandson of Georges II. He succeeded his grandfather in 1760 and became King of England. Georges' family is originally from Brunswick, Germany. He is therefore also Duke of Brunswick, and, as such, elector of the Emperor. Georges kept Brunswick until 1807, when this region was detached to form the kingdom of Westphalia, which was given to Napoleon's last brother, Jérôme (1784-1860). George III will recover an enlarged Brunswick, after 1815, which will be erected into a kingdom under the name of Hanover.
