L’Allemagne et la France commémorent ainsi ensemble le cinquantenaire de la signature en janvier 1963 du Traité d'amitié franco-allemand, dit Traité de l'Élysée.
La différence entre les faces nationales des deux pays se situe uniquement sur la marque d’atelier et la tranche (pour l’Allemagne, l’inscription classique “EINIGKEIT UND RECHT UND FREIHEIT” et la lettre D.
Cette 2 Euro commémorative est frappée par la Monnaie de Paris et par chacun des cinq ateliers monétaires allemands

Germany and France are thus jointly commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the signing in January 1963 of the Franco-German Treaty of Friendship, known as the Élysée Treaty. The difference between the national sides of the two countries is only on the mint mark and the edge (for Germany, the classic inscription “EINIGKEIT UND RECHT UND FREIHEIT” and the letter D).
