Obverse translation : "Imperator Æmilianus Pius Felix Augustus", (L'empereur Émilien pieux heureux auguste).

Reverse legend : AP-OL CONSERVAT.

Reverse description : Apollon debout à gauche, tenant une branche de laurier de la main droite et de la gauche sa lyre posée sur un rocher.

Reverse translation : “Apollini Conservatori”, ( À Apollon conservateur).

Emilian was governor of Moesia in 252, when Trebonian Galle entrusted him with the mission of repelling the Goths who had broken the Danubian limes. Emilien succeeds; he is proclaimed emperor by his troops. He marched on Italy and challenged Trebonian Galle and Volusian at Terni. Recognized by the Senate, he was finally assassinated in Spoleto by his soldiers who joined Valerian I.
