Commentary
Pair of single-sided proofs on unwatermarked security paper. The obverse is unpublished: with Secretary General on the left and Cashier Pal on the right, the words \\\"Banque de France\\\" on a straight line, like the 1913 proof but with more closely spaced lettering. There is no \\\"5F0\\\" value in the corners. The reverse bears Merson's signature, with the value \\\"50\\\" above it; the background is predominantly yellow, like the 1927 issue. Very narrow margins, thin paper.
