Historical background

FRENCH EQUATORIAL AFRICA

French Equatorial Africa was created in 1910. The AEF is made up of the territories of Gabon, Middle Congo, Oubangui-Chari and Chad. Under the leadership of Governor General Félix Éboué (1884-1944) and thanks to René Pléven, French Equatorial Africa rallied to De Gaulle on August 26, 1940, soon joined by Gaullist partisans from Cameroon and French Congo.
