Photographie du projet de recto pour le 100 Francs Descartes. Grand format 36,8cm x 21,4cm. Au dos cachet de l'atelier de Lucien Jonas (1880-1947). Ce document est proche du type adopté mais laisse apparaître quelques différences notables
: le DE de Banque de France est plus grand, il n'y a rien à droite du ruban en haut, le Cent Francs au centre est différent....
Photograph of the design for the obverse of the 100 Francs Descartes note. Large format, 36.8cm x 21.4cm. The reverse bears the stamp of Lucien Jonas's workshop (1880-1947). This document is close to the adopted type but shows some notable differences: the \\\"DE\\\" of the Bank of France is larger, there is nothing to the right of the ribbon at the top, and the \\\"Cent Francs\\\" in the center is different.

Thanks to a few finds, the Descartes note is often in great condition. F.27.01 UNC alph.F.2 and M.5 F.27.03 AU alph.M.55 and N.55 F.27.04 UNC alph.B.81 F.27.05 UNC alph.V.87 and E.88 F.27.06 UNC alph.W.103 and R.104 F.27.07 UNC alph.F.109 F.27.08 UNC alph.K.117 and S.118 These series account for most of the Descartes known. Out of the 120 alphabets that were issued theoretically, only about 40 have been found!
