SYRIA - Seleucid Kingdom - ANTIOCHUS II Theos
Antiochus II succeeded his father Antiochus I (280-261 BC). Under his reign were permanently lost Parthia, Bactria and the Kingdom of Pergamon. The fight against Egypt Ptolemy II Philadelphus (285-246 BC) was continuous and the control of Syria and Cilicia was often questioned. Antiochus II died, perhaps murdered.
