Exemplaire sur un flan très large, ovale, légèrement décentré au droit. Très beau portrait. Revers de style exceptionnel bien venu à la frappe avec une usure superficielle. Une jolie patine grise recouvre l’exemplaire avec des reflets dorés

Notre exemplaire présente une différence notable avec tous les exemplaires qui sont référencés : le siège est sans dossier ! Même coin de droit que l’exemplaire de la collection Lucien de Hirsch, Bruxelles (n° 1666).

SYRIA - SELEUKID KINGDOM - ANTIOCHUS IV EPIPHANES

(175-164 BC)

Antiochus IV was the youngest son of Antiochus III. He had been sent to Rome as a hostage after the Peace of Apamea. He fought the Egyptians, ravaged the Temple of Jerusalem and won several victories over Ptolemy VI Philometor (180-145 BC).
