Exemplaire sur un petit flan, court sur la légende au revers, décentré sur le portrait au droit avec une usure importante. Très joli revers de style fin. Belle patine vert olive

Ce type avec une ancre et un A à l’exergue non visible sur cet exemplaire proviendrait d’un atelier de Syrie.

SYRIA - SELEUKID KINGDOM - ANTIOCHUS IV EPIPHANES

(175-164 BC)

Antiochus IV was the youngest son of Antiochus III. He had been sent to Rome as a hostage after the Peace of Apamea. He fought the Egyptians, ravaged the Temple of Jerusalem and won several victories over Ptolemy VI Philometor (180-145 BC).
