Reverse description : Virtus (La Virilité) ou Mars casqué, debout à droite, le manteau flottant sur l'épaule gauche, appuyé de sa main gauche sur son bouclier et tenant de la main droite une haste.
Reverse translation : “Virtus Augusti”, (La Virilité de l'auguste).

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
