Cette obole est frappé sur un flan irrégulier présentant un petit manque. Hauts reliefs

Obverse description : Monogramme comportant un E, un A et un V (ou ANE).

Commentary


Cette obole reprend en guise de droit un type de revers pour les deniers.
Pour les oboles bractéates du groupe de Melle, M. Dhénin et P. Schiesser illustrent la monnaie BnF 2839b pour l’obole avec le type de droit et le n° 199 de la vente Albuquerque 28 pour l’obole avec le type de revers.
Si plusieurs exemplaires sont mentionnés avec le type de droit, le seul avec le type de revers semble être celui de la vente Albuquerque.
L'exemplaire proposé ici serait donc le troisième publié après le n° 1642 de MONNAIES 41.
Sur cet exemplaire, le monogramme EAV est comme inversé ou rétrograde par rapport à celui de MONNAIES 41.
