Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale bien centré. Belle tête de Tyché avec une petite faiblesse de frappe. Très joli revers bien venu à la frappe de style fin. Belle patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

PHOENICIA - ARADOS

(3rd - 1st century BC)

Arados had entered the Seleucid orbit after the battle of Ipsos in 301 BC. The city emancipated itself from this tutelage in 259 BC. Arados then dates its coins from this new era. Under the reign of Alexandre I Bala, it destroyed Marathus, its neighbor and old enemy. From this date, the city issued a very important civic coinage (137-45 AC.) which was to last until the Caesarean period..
