Flan mince et un peu court, avec le motif du droit bien net, mais un revers confus. Fine patine grise au droit, mais un peu hétérogène par ailleurs

Commentary


Avec un poids de 0,35 gramme il est difficile de qualifier cette monnaie de denier ! Il s’agit plus vraisemblablement d’une obole qui s’insère dans la seconde catégorie d’oboles “de petit module”.
Ce type avec les deux B plus ou moins symétrique par rapport à un axe vertical, correspond à peu près à un denier connu. Le denier B. 5681, sur un flan court mais épais a un annelet au revers et un monogramme décrit B(rétrograde)LB au droit, dans un grènetis. Si cette monnaie n’en est pas l’exacte réduction modulaire, il est probable qu’il s’agisse d’un même monnayage ou d’une même série.
Sous certains aspects, cet exemplaire est comparable aux monnaies légères découvertes sur le site de Dombourg (Pays-Bas).
