Coinage in the name of Demetrios type

Demetrius, son of Antigone le Borgne who was killed at the Battle of Ipsos in 301 BC, crushed Ptolemy's fleet at the Battle of Salamis (The Victory of Samothrace statue). A great strategist, he received the title of Poliorcète (the besieger). King of Macedonia after the death of Cassander, in 294 BC, he was dethroned by Lysimachus and Pyrrhus and died a prisoner of Antiochus in Syria (283 AC.).
