LORRAINE - Duchy of Lorraine - LEOPOLD I


Leopold I (1679-1729) was the son of Charles V (1642-1690) and Eleanor of Austria (1653-1697). It recovers the duchy of Lorraine after the Congress of Ryswick 30 October 1697 and married Charlotte d'Orléans (1676-1744), daughter of Philip, the brother of Louis XIV in 1698.
