LE MANS - FIXED CURRENCY ON BEHALF OF CHARLES THE BALD

(Tenth century)

In the Carolingian period the workshop of Le Mans in particular struck on behalf of Pepin the Short, Charlemagne and Charles the Bald. After this reign mint stops until the end of the tenth century. This asset type will however be accompanied by a reduction in weight. Mint immobilized Le Mans and in the name of Charles the Bald is widely represented in the treasure buried around 980 Fécamp.
