Coments on the condition:
Monnaie sur un flan régulier, avec un droit et un revers centrés. Avers bien net mais revers un peu plus confus. Patine gris foncé, avec de légères concrétions de surface

Obverse description : Tête barbare, très stylisée à droite, les cheveux hirsutes ; quatre traits parallèles devant la bouche.

Reverse description : Carré perlé, avec un annelet pointé au centre, accosté de deux T et deux I dans les angles.

ENGLAND - ANGLO-SAXONS

(7th - 8th centuries)

If the minting of these coins is to be located at the beginning of the 8th century, in Great Britain, it is not exceptional to find them in Gaul. They are often confused with Merovingian silver coins (cf. MONNAIES XIX, n° 503, sceattas c. 680-710, classified in Merovingian denier of Laon). During the 8th century, the style of these pieces is more and more degenerated, they are often in ridge or filled. These coins disappeared from circulation in the second half of the 8th century.
