Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais bien centré des deux côtés. Beau buste de Constantin II César. Revers bien venu à la frappe. Patine gris foncé avec des reflets métalliques dorés

Obverse description : Buste lauré, drapé et cuirassé de Constantin II césar à gauche, vu de trois quarts en avant, tenant la mappa de la main droite et un globe de la main gauche, un sceptre à l’extrémité bouletée reposant sur l’épaule (B*17).
Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Flavius Claudius Constantinus Iunior Nobilissimus Cæsar”, (Notre seigneur Flavien Claude Constantin le jeune très noble césar).

Caesar

Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
