Historical background

CHAMBLY (CAMILIACVM) - Oise

(7th century)

From the 6th century, traces of Chambly can be found in the Merovingian administration. Its territory extends from Méru to Ully-Saint-Georges, Viarmes, L'Isle-Adam and Nesles-la-Vallée. In the 9th century, the massacres of the Normans who went up the Oise disrupted the region and the Carolingian administration. In the Middle Ages, Chambly was an agricultural and industrial land that bore the name of Hauberger. Hauberks, breastplates and coats of mail are built there..
