Historical background

BOSPORUS - KINGDOM OF CIMMERIAN BOSPORUS - KOTYS II

(124-133)

Kotys (Cotys) II succeeded Sauromates II (90-124) after a very long reign and Rhoemetalces succeeded him. His reign finds its place entirely under that of Hadrian. The Cimmerian Bosphorus became a client kingdom of Rome.
