“Der Liebe Augustin” est un personnage légendaire de l’imaginaire autrichien. Lors de la Grande peste de Vienne en 1679, un troubadour connu sous le nom de “Der Liebe Augustin”, après une nuit d’ivresse, s’évanouit dans la rue. Ramassé par des gardiens, il fut jeté à la fosse avec les autres victimes de la peste. Terrifié à son réveil, il hurla et fut sorti de la fosse. Il retrouva aussitôt sa bonne humeur légendaire et passa le reste de sa vie à conter son histoire en chanson
